Mengla Gushu 2009
Mengla Gushu 2009
Strong, deep ageing Sheng Puer with a lively taste, the scent of fruit, spices and wood with a long thick and slightly metallic aftertaste.
Harvested from old tea trees. Mengla county, where it comes from, lies on the east bank of Mekong same as "the six famous tea mountains" (Yiwu etc.). You can find similarities in the typical thick and sweet flavour. The cakes were stored in Taiwan, so they are quite ripened, and the infusion is copper in colour.
In the first couple of infusions, there is a hint of wetter storage, but that soon makes way for a clean and lively flavour with a significant stimulating effect.
