Yibang 2023
Yibang Qiao Mu Sheng Puer 2023
Light, youthful ageing tea with a sparkling, bittersweet intoxicating taste and aroma of flowers and vanilla and an endlessly long sweet, fresh, cooling aftertaste.
Yibang is one of the most famous and at the same time the most expensive areas in the 6 famous tea mountains on the east bank of the Mekong in the Xishuangbanna region. It also used to be one of the historical centres of the Puer tea trade, from where caravans with tea set off to all corners of Asia.
Yibang is exceptional not only for its history but also for the unique taste of local teas. Most Puer is harvested from large-leaf tea trees, but Yibang is one of the few areas where we can find small-leaf tea trees. In combination with the terroir, it gives lighter but intense, fragrant teas, which create an unrepeatable feeling of lightness in the mouth, but with a long and intense fresh sweetness. Local old-tree teas command astronomical prices, so we selected material from younger trees, which is bitter and simpler, yet still delicious with the typical character of small-leaf tea trees from Yibang.
